Marazion is an ideal location for a holiday at any time of the year and the central location means that it is easy to explore the whole of West Cornwall with its many lovely beaches, spectacular coastline, attractions and industrial history.
The town itself has a general shop, a chemist, a bakers for great pasties, a deli, a seasonal fish and chip shop, gift shops, galleries plus traditional pubs, restaurants and cafes.
St. Michael's Mount (National Trust) is minutes from Hobbits, walk across the causeway at low tide or catch a little boat at high tide. The village on the Mount has a restaurant, cafes and shops and the gardens are open at times through the year.
Marazion’s town museum, open weekdays during the summer, is housed on the ground floor of the Town Hall in what was the Marazion & District Fire Brigade’s headquarters. The back section of the complex was once the town gaol, and a typical cell has been reconstructed there.
The seasonal direct bus service runs from Marazion to St. Ives (where parking is always difficult) and there is an hourly bus between Penzance, Porthleven and Falmouth.
The coast path towards Penzance has Beryl bikes for hire to ride into Penzance or onto Newlyn and Mousehole.
Just a few ideas for days out, all within a 45 minute drive, but there are lots more I’d love to tell you about:
